At last, the new Nintendo console is here! “In addition to providing single and multiplayer thrills at home, the Nintendo Switch system also enables gamers to play the same title wherever, whenever and with whomever they choose. The mobility of a handheld is now added to the power of a home gaming system to enable unprecedented new video game play styles,” said Nintendo
Developed under the code name “NX: the Nintendo Switch is a hybrid console-handheld, with the ability to link two consoles together to play local games and split-screen multiplayer in portable mode. This allows for instances such as when you’re on a plane you can remove the controller sections, prop the tablet on its kick-stand and game away without having to hold it. You can also share one each to play multi-player and even share them between lots of people for ‘a variety of gameplay options’. The Switch is due to be released in March 2017, with the price unknown at this time. Nvidia has confirmed that its technology is a factor in the console, but no other specs are available at this time, aside from the video showing that the games will be in cartridge form.
Now for my opinion: I looked at the Nintendo Stock in both Japan and NYSE, and both did not have strong reactions. In fact, the stocks dropped after the announcement. Has the world moved on from Nintendo? The shareholders think so.
